2010 Cultiva CSA information

What is “CSA?” CSA stands for Community Supporting Agriculture, where community members and a farmer work together on behalf of the Earth and each other. While the farmer is tending the Earth on behalf of the community, the community members share the costs of supporting the farm and share the risk of variable harvests (and also share the over-abundance of a particularly fruitful years). Membership in the CSA is based on shares of the harvest, with members underwriting the harvest for the entire season in advance.

The Cultiva CSA will bring together the young farmers of Cultiva with their community - Cultiva families, Growing Gardens’ staff and Board members, and our surrounding neighborhood.

CSA is about Community, Health, Ecology, Seasons, Learning, Families and Fun.

How will the Cultiva CSA work? For 2010, Cultiva will offer a limited number of SMALL shares ($15 of produce per week), for a 13-week season starting July 9 and ending October 1. Membership fee for the CSA will be a sliding scale based on income level. Payment is made up front, and shares are picked up on Friday between 3-6pm (or taken home by Cultiva participants).

Sign up: Membership will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis until we have filled our allotted shares for the season. Sign up will open at 8 AM on May 13, and close at 5 PM on May 20. For more information, please log on to To sign up, please leave a voicemail for Ben at 303-440-8409.
